Are You Disco Enough to Disco?

>> Thursday, April 30, 2009

Hey babes, have you checked out welovemondayshop? ;)

I'm selling this awesome silver sequin-lookalike boyfriend blazer on ebay. It's not really sequin as I noted that it's sequin-lookalike. It shines like a disco ball! Seriously one amazing find I've ever had. The blazer is very very light, so you can dance all night and you don't have to worry about ruining the sequins. Place a bid now! The auction ends on Sunday.

Mourning Air

So what's on your screen now is Behind The Scene Priyo Oktaviano for Batik Danar Hadi portfolio photoshoot. Feeling a lil bit spooky? Yes indeed, it was damn spooky! The photoshoot was at Jonathan Mulya's burnt house, such a 'beautiful' place for fashion photoshoot but not for those who can feel the strange energy a.k.a have a sixth sense.
Wouldn't it be 'nice' if you can smell the freshly baked bread in the air, precisely at a single spot. And no one baking, no bread vendors outside the house, it's seulement the strong smell. Nice.
And as I was writing this post, suddenly my internet connection went down. I didn't know why. Ah, just leave the spooky thingy! Let me just finish this post with the power of my blackberry. Huh! :(

When We Dance

>> Monday, April 27, 2009

Is there anyone here love Sting? Please raise your hand now. :)

Thrifted blazer + jumpsuit. Forever21 platform shoes.

I learned Ballet when I was a little kid. I stopped because the little me thought that the lesson was boring. My teacher only taught me to dance like a little duck, shake my ass because she thought kids look cute doing that, and dressed me in little duck costume when I wanted to be Odette in Swan Lake. Oh well. :p

xsml white shirt. vintage crochet top. Mango skinny pants. granny shoes from eBay

For the first time in my life, I went out of town all by myself. So I went to Bandung, it's only like 130KM from Jakarta but still, this is the farthest trip I've ever done all alone. At first I intended to cheer up my broken-hearted bestfriend, but I ended up asking him to take my photographs LOL. He's a damn good friend and yet a damn good photographer also. Besides, there are loads of beautiful spots in Bandung (esp. at Institut Teknologi Bandung, his college) and I was like, "Shoot! I wish I were smarter so I could spend such a joyeous moment in this amazing college!". Seriously, this college is to-die-for! And perhaps this is what my Psychology of Education professor called "good environment for learning". And compared to my college? Real trash. LOL.

Tagged!

>> Wednesday, April 22, 2009

I was tagged by .ribbony boo. and I was like; "well, okay let's just do it". Normally I don't do tagging thing even in Facebook, unless it's my close friends who tagged me. ;p I'm so full of Q&A thang since I'm studying Psychology and I had enough with any kinds of questionaire. do you admire anyone’s style?
Bien sûr. I admire Kate Lanphear and fashion bloggers's style sooo bad. This is such a stupid question I guess. Who on earth don't admire someone else's style?

describe your personal style
I hate to answer this, but well I love structured and masculine/androgyny look with a touch of vintage mood. And sometimes when I don't feel like dressing up, I'll let my shoes do the statement. :)

the rules:

1. respond and rework: answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own. (disclaimer: i don't do this, because i don't know how to answer my own question, and can't even think of one right now).

2. tag eight other people.

I passed this on to:
1. Traversant
2. Dewi Utari
3. Thornandes James
4. Blink-Wink
5. Who is Elyoo
6. Princessimp
7. My Lookbooks
8. Confession of a Shoe Girl

Thrifted vintage lace-satin blazer. My dad's white shirt (it's his sleepwear, btw)
Mango skinny pants. Steve Madden shoes.

This outfit was inspired by Balmain S/S 2009/2010 structured look, but in a thrift way. :p
Well anyway, big big thanks to my stylish friend, Dhyta Stain on My Red Shoes, for taking these amazing photos. Yes, the photos are amazing. I am not. LOL!

Soap Survivals

>> Saturday, April 18, 2009

Yesterday I went out to meet my 'second' family from (ex) Soap Magazine and had fun. We blatantly show the world that no one can ever break our bond. Now eventhough we work separately/for different companies, but deep inside our heart we still miss the good times working together and we are still fighting for a tiny chance to be working together again. :'( Know someone who's interested to be an investor for a fashion magazine? We already have the editors team here *wink wink*.

Thrifted blazer + blouse. Mango pants. Vintage studded bag. Boots from eBay

Monochrome

Who: Barli Asmara, Designer

What: If there’s a word “chic” for men, that would be the fittest word to describe his casual yet sleek monochromatic look. Perhaps perfectly fitted (white) suit like this could be what our men needs right now.

Quick Updates

>> Monday, April 13, 2009

Hello lovely readers, how was your weekend? I'm so excited when I checked out this blog and read all the sweet comments you left. :) Thanks everyone! It means so much to me, I really appreciate it and please keep 'em coming. I'd like to hear what you say. ;)
And please coming back to find more updates, I'm trying my best to keep this blog updated at least every 1-3 days. Seriously, without you guys I'm nothing hehehehe. I'm really sorry I can't do the Today's Outfit photoshoot everyday because... well honestly, I don't dress up to go to campus so what's the point of taking my campus outfit? Hehehe. And besides, I'm not into taking self-portrait using tripod (I don't have a wireless remote), because it takes so much energy. Translation: I need a boyfriend who could be my personal photographer LOL
Oh well, that's my quick updates for now. So, tell me what you've been up to? ;)
Thrifted blazer. DIY necklace. Next top.

Yes It was True!

Thrifted blazer. Dorothy Perkins minidress. Oasis bag.
Sequins leggings from eBay. Pedder Red shoes.
(Pardon my sick face. I was suffering from gastritis thingy)

Not in the mood for dressing up, having the "I-have-nothing-to-wear" syndrome or "I-have-too-many-clothes-to-wear-and-I-don't-know-which-one-to-wear-now" syndrome? I guess it the second one, though. It's so sick when you know you have loads of clothes but you ended up wearing the same old stuff over and over again. Maybe I should create a psychological theraphy for this kind of syndrome (I learn psychology, remember? Hehehe).
Wore this outfit to Jamiroquai concert last night. It was great although they didn't play "Virtual Insanity", my all time fave. However, I love how Jay Kay communicated with the audience pretty often. Brandon Boyd disappointed me with his coldness last year.

Thanks Vanya, for taking my today's outfit pic. :)

Watermelon Seeds

Went out for snacks shopping and bought a cup of Jamoca Almond Fudge by Baskin Robbins (my all time fave is Pistachio Almond, but too bad they didn't have it). While busy browsing for snacks, I saw a box of Kuaci (watermelon seeds) on the rack and remembered that it's my mom's all time fave snacks, so I bought her some. ;)

Thrifted vintage blazer + tiered skirt. Steve Madden shoes.

Again, thanks Narita for taking these pics ;)

Joyeux Anniversaire!

>> Monday, April 6, 2009

Dear readers, I turn 22 today! Happy birthday to me! :D

I didn't celebrate my birthday simply because I was not in the mood to celebrate it. So I decided to go out for birthday lunch with my parents and enjoyed my quality time with them. I have spent too much times going out with my friends, so why couldn't I just spare one day to hang out with my parents, right?
Oh well, these are the pictures of the little me back in late 80's and/or early 90's (great eras! hehe). I really love these pics. It makes me want to have a kid sooo bad ;D
3 years old me. :)

4 years old me. :)

5th birthday bash at my grandma's house :D

Ah, I just won a pair of Topshop slouchy boots (brand new without box) on eBay for only £0.99 (around $1,47) but the seller fukin cancels the transaction. First she asked me not to pay as she counts the postage, while on the fukin listing I can see clearly how much the shipping cost to Indonesia is! She blamed me for not asking before bidding (ah, weird!) and then she fukin raised the postage from £5 to £10. Not fair, don't you think? Before I ever replied her message, she cancelled the transaction. It's just soo not professional, no? She set the starting bid at £0.99 and I was the only bidder, then she cancelled the transaction. Very nice.
Not my luck. *sigh* :p

Inspirations: Mozart and Napoleon Bonaparte

>> Saturday, April 4, 2009

I've always been interested in history of fashion, especially pre-20th century. For me, that was the greatest era of fashion because the clothes were very magnificent and immaculate. So, it's just funny thinking how fashion become so effortless today, well unless it's Haute Couture for sure.
How I really wish I had a time machine.. :(

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

*gasp* I love Napoleon Bonaparte <3>

And anyway, this is my attempt for channeling their look!
*still trying getting used to wear leggings as pants! hehe*

Thrifted vintage blazer and ruffled shirt. Latex legging from eBay.
Peep-toe booties from candyfeet at Mi-Casa-Su-Casa

Nice try, non? Hehehe. :p

Photos taken by Narita. Merci beaucoup, cherie!
